Austin Altmyer Obituary

Austin Altmyer, age 33, of Bradley passed away Thursday, August 18, 2022, at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee. He was born June 1, 1989, in Kankakee, the son of Stephen D. & Juli (Doud) Altmyer.

Austin was a graduate of Bradley Bourbonnais Community High School. He enjoyed sports cars, having fires by the lake, and riding bikes. He was a master collector of knives. Most of all, Austin loved spending time with his fiancé, Heather LaVine. Austin was a kind and loving soul.

Surviving is his mother, Juli Altmyer (Bill Bienias) of Bourbonnais; the love of his life and fiancé, Heather LaVine and her granddaughter, Ryleigh Mumper; one brother, Lance "Mate" & Sara Altmyer of Bourbonnais; maternal grandfather, Kenneth Doud of Kankakee; maternal grandmother, Kay & Robert Nickles of Bourbonnais; two nieces, Alex and Molly; two nephews, Parker and Armin; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Austin was preceded in death by his father and paternal grandparents, Doug & Joyce Altmyer.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of the 1 p.m. funeral service on Monday, August 22, 2022, at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais. Interment will follow at Maternity B.V.M. Cemetery in Bourbonnais.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family wishes.
