He is survived by: his children, Lorne Cordes (Dawn) of Chatsworth, IL, Justine Duke (Sonny) of Wilmington, IL and Mickel Cordes of Carbondale, IL; his grandchildren, Ashlee (Justin), Adam (Danielle), Amber, Alyssa, Stephanie (Kyle) and Matthew; his great grandchildren, Lane, Jaxson, Roselynn, Reston and Ronin; his siblings, Jerry Cordes of Florida, Ronald Cordes (Barb) of Bonfield, IL, Lanny Cordes (Marilyn) of Grant Park, IL and Vicky Cordes of Kankakee, IL; his siblings-in-law, Judy Cordes of Minnesota and Dave Harvey of Limestone, IL.; his close friend Don Eberle; and his pets, Moon and Ryan. He is also survived by great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the R. W. Patterson Funeral Home (401 E Main St, Braidwood, IL 60408). A memorial service was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location. The inurnment was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 at 2:30 PM at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery (20953 W Hoff Rd, Elwood, IL 60421).
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Dennis's name may be directed to Transitions Hospice or to an animal charity of the donor's choice.
