It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Arnold G. Schmeink of Breese, Illinois, born in Carlyle, Illinois, who passed away on December 20, 2023, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard Schmeink and Emma Schmeink; his in-laws, Alphonse and Margaret Olliges; his grandchildren, Cheston Koehler and Dylan Peek; his siblings, Bernard Schmeink, Joseph Schmeink, Henry Schmeink and Emma Huelsmann; and his siblings-in-law, Rita Schmeink, Martha Eversgerd, Fred Olliges, Alphonse Olliges Jr., Edward Olliges, Tom Lane and James Eversgerd.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Schmeink; his children, Marilyn Koehler (Kenny) of Carlyle, Joseph Schmeink (Tina) of Carlyle, Ellen Norrenberns (Ryan) of O'Fallon, IL and Anna Kuhn (Chad) of Aviston; his grandchildren, Lauren Branz (Adam), Travis Koehler (Jordee), Kelsey Tucker (Nathan), Clinton Schmeink (Carly McIntyre), Sam, Jack, Lucy Norrenberns, Lydia and Aften Kuhn; his great grandchild Arnold; his brothers, Leo Schmeink and Paul Schmeink (Janet); and his siblings-in-law, Kathy Schmeink, Ann Olliges, Mary Ann Olliges, Rose Olliges, Doris Lane and James Huelsmann. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers and other gifts, memorial donations are suggested to St. Mary's Church or in the form of Masses, or to the charity of the donor's choice. Memorial donations will be received through Zieren Funeral Home, 1111 Clinton Street, Carlyle, IL 62231.
