He was predeceased by: his parents, Cairl Butterfoss and Emma Butterfoss (Francis); and his brother Lee Butterfoss. He is survived by: his wife Joan Butterfoss of Breese; his daughters, Cindy Ackles (Brian) of Marcellus, NY, Marilou Bohley (Joseph) of Dublin, VA, Laura Wedekemper (Mike) of Carlyle, IL and Susan Butterfoss of Oxnard Shores, CA; his grandchildren, Jamie Sprague (Jarrod), Lindsey Stupp (Andy), Joseph Bohley (Corinna), Christine Ullman (Todd), Elizabeth Wolff (Craig), Amanda Wedekemper, Thomas Wedekemper (Kayla) and Elise Payan (Jean); and his sister Judy Johannsen of Newark, DE. He is also survived by 16 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Zieren Funeral Home (1111 Clinton St, Carlyle, IL 62231). A funeral service was held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
