She was predeceased by: her parents, Bernard "Ben" Gebke and Elizabeth Gebke; her husband Arnold "Arnie" Michels; her daughter-in-law Janette Michels; her grandson-in-law Jeff Pingsterhaus; her siblings, Cornelius Gebke (Helen), Norbert Gebke (Clara), Betty Eversgerd (Alphonse), Larry Gebke (Bernice), Cleo Eversgerd (Greg), Pat Haake (Joe), Junior Gebke (Rita), Rosemary Goewert (Stanley), Dolores Kohnen (Ted), Aggie Benhoff (Tony) and Tommy Gebke; and her in-laws, Paul Jansen, Robert Kohrmann, Ray Michels (Loretta), Clarence Michels (Fanita), Robert Michels and Rosemary Michels.
She is survived by: her sons, Jim Michels of Auburn and John Michels (Dianne) of Germantown; her grandchildren, Sydney Kahl, Erica Michels (David Evanich), Sarah Pingsterhaus and Adam Michels (Ashley); her great grandchildren, Ariana Schultz, Emma, Nolan Pingsterhaus, Charlotte Michels and Lincoln Holten; and her sisters, Margie Jansen of Bartelso and Blanche Kohrmann of Bartelso. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Boniface Church (306 Munster St, Germantown, IL 62245). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, plants, or other gifts, memorials may be made to St. Boniface Church and will be received at the visitation or by mail at Moss Funeral Home, 535 N. 5th St., Breese, IL 62230, which is serving the family.
