He is survived by: his wife Betty Ruth of Breese, IL; his children, Susan Marie Ruth (Derwayne Gallimore) of Germantown, IL, Sandra Dee Ruth-Diesen (Kevin Diesen) of Ottawa Hills, OH, Sara Lee Kampwerth (Brian) of Beckemeyer, IL and Charles Edward Ruth (Dyan) of Clarendon Hills, IL; his grandchildren, Eric Eversgerd (Lauren), Luke Eversgerd (Megan Feldmann), Brieta Diesen, Eliana Diesen, Jacob Kampwerth (Alyssa), Jared Kampwerth (Ali), Jordan Kampwerth (Brittney Vandeloo), Jack Ruth, Matt Ruth and Nate Ruth; his great grandchildren, Paisley, Ashlyn, Easten Eversgerd, Kylee Eversgerd and Leighton Kampwerth; his sister Anna Schmitt (Herb) of Trenton, IL; and his siblings-in-law, Judy Ruth of Spring Hill, FL, Ron Schultz (Kathy) of Trenton, IL, Catherine Diekemper of Breese, IL, Patricia Harmon (Charles) of Mascoutah, IL, Wilma Ruppel (John) of Polk City, FL, Helen Beckmann (Alfred) of Carlyle, IL, Joetta Huelsmann and Gerald Huelsmann (Joyce) of Trenton, IL.
