She was predeceased by: her parents, William Susanka and Ida Susanka; her husband Dr. Paul Berns, DC; and her son-in-law James "Jim" Schurman. She is survived by: her daughters, Kathleen Schurman of Carlyle and Laurie Lampen (Bill) of Highland; her grandchildren, Tyler Huelskamp (Erin), Katherine Huelskamp (Brannon Cooper), Nick Lampen (Anna) and Alison Kampwerth (Jared); and her great grandchildren, Saylor, Maddyn Huelskamp, Carter Cook, Lucas, Eli Lampen and James Kampwerth. She is also survived by her family, most especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, plants, and other gifts, memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and will be received at the visitation or by mail at Moss Funeral Home, 535 N. 5th St., Breese, IL 62230, who is serving the family.
