He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Titus and Alma Mae Lyles (Wilcox); his wife Jane Lyles (Lewis); and his siblings, Beatrice Smith, Carl Lyles and Sue Wimbley.

He is survived by: his daughter Joie; his son-in-law Chris Lyerla of Bethalto; his grandson Jeff Lyles of Glen Carbon; his siblings, Paul (Marlene Lyles), Phyllis Butts of Los Angeles and Ozeta Unsworth of Belmont; and his sister-in-law Gloria Lyles of Bolingbrook, Illinois. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
