With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Paul D. James of Bridgeport, Illinois, who passed away on May 8, 2025 at the age of 86. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Paul D. James to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles James and Iva Shick James; his siblings, Charles James, Donald James, David James (Raymond James), Agatha Seed, Dr. Betty LaFon, Mae Ann Plowman and Norma Akers; and his son-in-law David Hammel.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Corrie; and his children, Wesley James (Mark) of Poole, Scott James (Wendy) of Sweet Springs, Jeffery James (Traci) of Bridgeport, Jean Hammel of Bridgeport and Mert Burgett (David) of Sumner. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to Lawrence County Senior Citizens.
