He is survived by: his sons, Erick Abernathy (Melissa) of Jerseyville and Dirk (Jenifer Barnes) of Brighton, Illinois; his grandchildren, Amber Weatherford (Courtney), Derick Abernathy, Erick Abernathy Jr., Kelsey Smith (Dakota), Nathaniel Barnes and Jordan Barnes (Michelle); and his great grandchildren, Isaac Chinchilla, Jameson Smith and Evelyn May Barmes.
