We bid farewell to Merrill Jacoby of Brighton, Illinois, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on July 13, 2025 at the age of 89. Merrill touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Jacoby and Mildred Jacoby (Kolb); his daughter Millie Robinson; his granddaughter Nicole Staszewski; and his stepchildren, Jerry Pruit, Jeff Pruitt and Mike Bick.
He is survived by: his children, April Spurgeon (Kevin) of Brighton and Michael Jacoby of East Alton; his stepchildren, Don Pruitt (Carol), John Pruitt-Jones (Steve), Theresa Payne (Jerry), Don Reed and Kevin Reed (Melissa); his grandchildren, Dylan Spurgeon, Layla Jacoby, Richard Hartman, Robert Robinson, John Robinson and Christy Nance; his grandson-in-law Jason Staszewski; his great grandchild Jason Staszewski; and his sister Marcia Blasoili. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 16th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Anderson Family Funeral Home (501 W Center St, Brighton, IL 62012). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
