We are sad to announce that, on September 21, 2025, at the age of 101, Mildred L. Gilles of Brimfield, Illinois, born in Bartonville, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Mildred has departed this earthly realm, her legacy endures — a legacy of love that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours. May her spirit soar on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.
She was predeceased by: her parents, August Oppe and Anna Oppe (Lapp); and her husband Paul L. Gilles of Mary's Catholic Church. She is survived by: her children, Patsy Cahill (Peter), Mary Kay DeVries (Dale), Edward Gilles (Janet), Steven Gilles (Candy) and Paul Gilles, Jr. (Susan); and her brother Warren Oppe. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 29 great- grandchildren and 5 great-greatgrandchildren.
