He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Wellen and Mary Wellen (Wilhelm); his siblings, Donnie Wellen, Joe Wellen, Matt Wellen, Earl Wellen, Dorothy Horn, Mary Elizabeth Rapp and Eileen Wellen; his father-in-law Fred of Glady's McPeak; and his pet Dachshund Blackie.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Wellen (McPeak) of Broughton, IL; his children, Shannon Beach of McLeansboro, IL, Chris Wellen of Galatia, IL and Ami Scoville (Jeramie) of West Frankfort, IL; his grandchildren, Nathan Wellen, Nic Wellen, Delaney French, Austin Wellen, Brylea Wellen, Baylea Wellen, Jordan Scoville, Jonah Scoville and Jax Scoville; his great grandchildren, Klay Wellen, Nora Wellen, Josie Shimkus, Jensen Shimkus and Kaysen Shimkus; and his brother John J. Wellen (Minnie). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Gholson Funeral Home- McLeansboro (500 S Washington St, McLeansboro, IL 62859). A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 25th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Frank's memory may be made payable to Shriners Children's Hospital and will be accepted at Gholson Funeral Home.
