He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Fortschneider and Loretta Fortschneider; and his sister Jeanette Held. He is survived by: his wife Betty Schleeper; his children, Todd Fortschneider (Shonna) and Kristi Fortschneider; his grandchildren, Ainsley and Jamison; and his brother Gary Fortschneider. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Gress, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home - Brussels (145 Community Ave, Brussels, IL 62013). A Mass will be held on Friday, July 18th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church (115 Main St, Brussels, IL 62013). A burial will be held on Friday, July 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery - Brussels (115 Main St, Brussels, IL 62013).
