He was predeceased by: his spouse Yelizaveta Gitman; and his parents, David Gitman and Liza Gitman. He is survived by: his children, Irina Samokhina (Eugene Nisenzon) and Alex Gitman (Irina); his grandchildren, Dmitry Samokhin (Alina), Mary Valencia (Norberto), Julie Kettler (Michael) and Annie Gitman; his great grandchildren, Danielle, Nicholas, Natalie and Lily; and his siblings, Yakov Gitman, Peter Gitman and Raisa Tkach (Isaac).
