With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Elizabeth J. Shimashita (Burbank, Illinois), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 16, 2025 at the age of 65. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was loved and cherished by many people including: her former husband Kenneth Shimashita; her parents, Elinor Flanigan and David Flanigan; her siblings, Meg Marshinski (Gary) and Rob Flanigan (Mona); her siblings' children, Erin Ascherman, Ryan Marshinski, Bailey Flanigan and Chloe (Marcus); her fiancé Michael Murphy; and her partner's children, Michael Murphy Jr. (Rebecca Sheeder), Samantha Dafgard (Benjamin) and J. P. Murphy (Emily Shewski).
