He was predeceased by: his son James Oakey Jr. (Elizabeth DelBosque Oakey). He is survived by: his wife Laura Oakey (DeCoster); his children, George Oakey (Sherry Pfieffer Oakey), Deanna Wasilewsk (late Roary Wasilewski) and Daniel Oakey; his grandchildren, Jessica, Lilia, Jason, Valerie, Benjamin, Anthony and Dale; and his great grandchildren, Lucas, Lia, Finlay, Caleb and Elliot.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Lawn Funeral Home - Burbank (7909 State Rd, Burbank, IL 60459). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
