He was predeceased by: his stepsister Christine Johnson; and his stepparents, Tom Johnson and Gloria Knoll. He is survived by: his parents, James Knoll and Joanne Johnson Knoll; his children, Brayden, Larkin and Dustin; his former wife Carrie; his brother Jarrod Knoll; his daughters, Kendall and Karmen Knoll; and his stepbrothers, David and Bradley Johnson (Pam). He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews.

Memorials may be made to the family for a memorial to be established in Ryan's name.
