It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Atkinson of Cahokia, Illinois, born in East Saint Louis, Illinois, who passed away on November 6, 2022, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Windfield Rodgers and Lula Rodgers (Lowe); her sons, Robert Atkinson, Jr. and Lonnie Dixon; her grandson Kaleb Dixon; and her brothers, Harold Rodgers, Rev. Charles Rodgers and David Rodgers.
She is survived by : her husband Robert V. Atkinson, Sr.; her children, Peggy Sartin (James) of Bradenton, FL, Sandra Groves (late Richard) of St. Louis, MO, Robin Hake (Kevin) of Hazelwood, MO and Carolyn Atkinson of Bradenton, FL; her grandchildren, Richard Groves (Olivia), Brandon Groves (Cassandra), Jeremy Groves (Jennifer), Kyle Dixon and Lynlee Zwick (Eli); her great grandchildren, Austin, Patrick, Ethan, Derek, Connor, Carissa, Collin, Michaela, Daniel, Sawyer Groves, Kyla Swearingen, Anna Campbell, Alexander Koelz and Emma Gagne; her great great grandchildren, Tate Swearingen, MacGyver Groves and Luna Pedroley; and her son-in-law Andrew Dixon.
