With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Tonie M. Townsend Sr. of Cahokia, Illinois, born in Montgomery, Alabama, who passed away on November 13, 2022 at the age of 75. He was predeceased by : his wife Barbara; his brothers, James and Woodrow "Woody" Townsend; and his grandchildren, Anthony Mordis, Katie Maloney and Zachary Townsend.

He is survived by : his children, Tonie Townsend (Tina) of Hillsboro, MO, Tonia Townsend Maloney (Kevin) of Fairview Heights, IL, Tracy Mordis (Jimmie) of Florida, Travis Townsend (Debi) of California and Audrey Townsend of Missouri; and his stepchildren, Bryan Allison of St. Louis, MO and Jody Price of Waterloo, IL. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
