Hodges of Cairo, Illinois, born in Palestine, Arkansas, who passed away on May 24, 2025, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Herbert Hodges; her parents, Lester Chrisenberry and Mae Chrisenberry; her son Philip Hodges; her grandson Charles Allen Caldwell; her son-in-law Ralph Allison; her sister Velma; and her brother-in-law Harold Upshaw.
She is survived by: her children, Janice Sutton (Ronald), Kaye Allison, Vickie Caldwell, Mike Hodges and Byron Hodges (Phyllis); her daughter-in-law Doris Hodges; and her grandchildren, Kim Brown (Mike), Andrea Vinson, Herbert Vinson, James Vinson, Adam Hodges (Chelsea), Sara Cornelius, Jr. (Esley), April Moore (Robert), Christopher Jackson (Veronica), Cynthia Johnson (Robert), Bryan Hodges, Candince Hodges and Glenn Hodges (Alisha). She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, May 29th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Crain Funeral Home - Cairo (4815 Sycamore St, Cairo, IL 62914). A funeral service was held on Thursday, May 29th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, May 29th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Green Lawn Memorial Gardens.
The family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be made to Mighty Rivers Regional Worship Center and/or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
