He was predeceased by: his parents, Olaf Nelson and Helen Nelson (Mathison); his wife Lorainne Nelson; his son Dean Nelson; and his wife Dorris Nelson.
He is survived by: his sister Bonnie Kunde; his stepdaughter Janet Moutrey; and his grandchildren, Jason Burmester and Felecia Fallis. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
