He is survived by: his wife Judy McVaigh; his son Albert "Bert" McVaigh (Betty); his grandchildren, Brian McVaigh (Valerie), Amelia McPheron (Shawn), Mitchell McVaigh, Rae McVaigh and Glenna McVaigh; his great grandchildren, Lucas, Brock and Morgan; his stepchildren, Diana Smith (Steve) and Kevin Perry (Linda); his stepgrandchildren, Daniel Randolph, Bethany Spitzner (Nicholas), Rebecca Staat, Ashley Covalt (Chad), Jennifer Perry and Hayley Harms; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Ben, Nate, Bradley, Jonathan, Jason, Brooke, Ava, Kristen, Karma, Roselynne, Alaina, Sophia and Peyton.

“I was sad to hear of Gene's passing, but I know he had battled the last months, he was such a great man, I will always have fond memories of Gene, Glenna and boys while I was growing up. Baling hay, riding horses, etc. Gene was such a hard worker and would help anyone and everyone when he could, he left a good legacy, the whole family has meant a lot to me and my parents, and I will forever be thankful for the good memories! Rest in Peace Gene, Love you! Dee Anna”
