He was predeceased by : his grandparents, Leonard Jayne and Delcia Mae Adkins; his sister Peggy Sue Orndorff; and his father Henry Adkins. He is survived by : his mother Debbie Ann Adkins (Jayne) of Ashmore, IL; his children, Robert Ray of Decatur, IL, Christina Adkins of Robinson, IL, Amanda Adkins (Kenny Ballew) of Robinson, IL and Jamie Gent (Leslie) of Villa Grove, IL; his grandmother Patty Jayne of Camargo, IL; and his half-sisters, Monica Orndorff of Danville, IL and Bobbi Orndorff of New York. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Adams Funeral Chapel (2330 Shawnee Dr, Charleston, IL 61920). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
