He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Dean and Fern Dean (Sable); and his brothers, Dick, Jerry and Joe Dean.
He is survived by: his wife Karan "Cookie" Dean of Cambridge; his son Jesse Dean (Melanie) of Cambridge; his grandchildren, Adeline and Grant Lee; his sisters, Barbara Fulton (Kermit) of Ft. Madison, IA and Jackie Anderson of Des Moines, IA; and his sisters-in-law, Patricia Guyette of Ottumwa, IA and Sally Clark of Ottumwa, IA. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
