It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sharon E. Allen (Cambridge, Illinois), who passed away on August 13, 2025, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Anthony F. Hyfte and Margaret D. Van Hyfte (Clark); her husband Frederick Wayne Allen; her brother Kenneth Van Hyfte; her sister-in-law Ruth Ann Van Hyfte; and her son Michael Wayne.
She is survived by: her children, Suzette Wilkinson (Dirk) and Drew Allen (Danell); her grandchildren, Brandon Wilkinson (Lexxi) of Wenatchee, WA, Kayla Smith (Jeffery), Joey Rose-Allen (Chad), Austin Allen of Cambridge, IL, Katelynn, Emma Waters (Leslie) of Godley, IL and Hannah Wittenauer (Robby) of Cambridge, IL; her great grandchild Everleigh Wilkinson; her grandchildren, Sarah Wells of Geneseo, IL, Jen, Avery and Connor Vandevoord of Cambridge, IL; and her siblings, Anthony VanHyfte (Pat) of Atkinson, IL, Joseph VanHyfte of Sun Prairie, WI, Rosemary Maier of Sun Prairie, WI and Diane Medearis of Davenport, IA..
One of the many things she enjoyed was going to Hillcrest Nursing Home on Wednesday's and conducting a weekly bible study with the residents there, sadly having to stop in 2020 due to the pandemic.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cambridge Fire Department or Cambridge Ambulance.
