He was predeceased by: his mother Ethel Dyer Smith; his daughter Patti Ann Smith; his siblings, Janet Wombles, Pam Brinkley and Charles Smith; and his half-brother Mike Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Peters; his children, Floyd Smith II of Quincy, Sherri Riddle of Lawtey, FL and Debbie Halle of Stark, FL; his stepchildren, Lisa Wand (Stan) of Quincy and Kevin Veile (Joni) of Quincy; and his half-siblings, Ralph Smith, Jr. (Sandy) of Quincy and Gail Lynn. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, June 4th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home (1535 State St, Quincy, IL 62301). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
