It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Gerald M. Petty of Canton, Illinois, who passed away on May 4, 2023, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Donald Petty and Eva Jennings (Starcevich); his wife Nancy Spenny; his sons, Steve Petty (Amber) of Canton and Tom Petty (Amanda) of Canton; his grandchildren, Emilee, Ellyn, Drew Petty, Zachary Kerans (Ali), Drake, Nathen, Garhett and Randel Petty; his great grandchildren, Natalee and Blayke Kerans; his brother-in-law Bill Spenny; his nephew Mike Spenny; and his niece Lyn Donaho.

Memorials may be made to the Canton Booster Club or the Lukas R. Goforth Memorial Scholarship at Spoon River College.
