James Richard Vannice Obituary

He was predeceased by: his parents, James H. Vannice and Dorcas Butler Vannice; his former wife Shirley Hankins; his son Kirt Vannice; and his brother Jere Vannice.
He is survived by: his children, Becki Flickinger (Jay) of Canton, IL, Kim Vannice of Franklin, IN and Bruce Vannice (Susan) of Waterloo, IL; his stepchildren, Nick Hamilton (Dusti) of Greensburg, IN and Heather Haunert (Harve) of Georgia; his grandchildren, Brent Flickinger (Erica), Blake Flickinger (Lauren), Brad Vannice (Lillian), Ryan Vannice, Nicholas Vannice (Christey), Stacy Dickinson (Ty), Justin Vannice (Addie) and Branden Vannice (Ashley); and his siblings-in-law, Nancy Brown (Lynn Adams), Judy Lozier and Carlos Brown. He is also survived by three step-grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the American Legion (221 E Washington St, Macomb, IL 61455).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Canton Fire Department.
