We are sad to announce that on February 28, 2023, at the age of 95, Verna A. Hicks of Canton, Illinois, born in Dunfermline, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Jesse Myers and Millie Myers (Davis); her son Edward J. Lowe; her siblings, Raymond Myers and Margaret Johnson; and her daughter-in-law Patricia A. Lowe.

She is survived by : her former life partner John W. Lowe; her husband James Hicks; her children, Michael Lowe of East Peoria and Marcia K. Pauley (Gerald) of East Peoria; her grandchildren, Rachael Smith (Scott) of Singapore, Lauren Schone (William) of Washington, IL and Seth Lowe (Sarah) of Morton, IL; her children, Caleb Lowe of Wisconsin, Abijah Lowe of Minnesota and Mecquel Lowe of California; and her great grandchildren, Iona Smith, Norah Schone, Phineas Schone, Faye Schone, Eden Lowe, Wyatt Lowe and Esme Lowe. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
