She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Benner and Ethell Jurgens Benner; her husband Jim; her sons, Bruce Carter and Ed Carter; her brother Don; and her sister-in-law Sarah Benner.
She is survived by: her children, Jim Carter (Barb) of Athens, Larry Carter (Barb) of Williamsville and Mary Tobias (Donny Bednarko) of Athens; her daughter-in-law Elizabeth Carter of Cantrall; her grandchildren, Lance Carter (Barbie), Keri Pipkins (Doug), Tracy Moore, Lara Bollin (Kris), Brandon Poe (Tara Dillon), Forrest Poe (Sarah), Dale Carter (Amanda), Alicia Carter Scaggs, Kristin Etter (Chris) and Morgan Thoman (Bob); and her sister Wanda Christen (Ted). She is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 14th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Mott & Henning Funeral Home (206 N Main St, Athens, IL 62613). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 14th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
