He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Payne and Edith Payne; and his siblings, Richard Woods, Eddie Payne, Ralph Payne, Earnest Payne, Willie Payne, Mike Payne, Rosie Miller, Alberta Payne and Almeeta Simmons.
He is survived by: his sisters, Dollie Payne of Carbondale, Tommie Nelson (L. C.) of Carbondale and Brenda Rowe (Jackie) of Hayti, Missouri; and his friend Carolyn Alexander of Carbondale. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many dear friends.
