Delmar Gumm Obituary
Mr. Gumm was born on August 14, 1921 in Dunkirk, OH, the son of Dessman and Mercy (nee Yoak) Gumm. He was united in marriage to Isabelle McLain on February 22, 1945 at St. James Catholic Church in Jamestown, North Dakota and she preceded him in death on October 13, 2015. Delmar served with the United States Air Force. He worked as a service manager for General Motors for many years.
Delmar was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Nashville, IL, the Elks Lodge, American Legion Post #110 and the Air Force Sergeants Association. Left to mourn his passing is his sister Dorcie Pigg and her husband Harold of DuQuoin, IL; a brother, Destal Gumm and wife Diane of Mountain Home, AR; two sisters-in-law, Susie Gumm of Junction City, KS and Sheila Gumm of Sandoval, IL; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and two brothers, Denzel and Dowen Gumm. Per the wishes of Delmar and his family, cremation was performed and entombment of ashes will be held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO. There will be no public services.
