It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Poulos of Carbondale, Illinois, born in Chicago, Illinois, who passed away on November 12, 2025, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Stavros Poulopoulou and Aikaterini Poulopoulou; his wife Genie (Genie) of Kansas; and his nephew Dimitri Goussios (Katerina). He is survived by: his daughters, Katherine of Carbondale and Margaret (Adam Gerber) of Orlando, Florida.; his granddaughters, Erica Deichen (John Deichen) and Anna Gerber; and his great grandchildren, Emma, Peter and William Deichen.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the Foundation Fighting Blindness or Leader Dogs for the Blind.
