It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Loretta D. Cox of Carbondale, Illinois, born in Makanda, Illinois, who passed away on December 29, 2025, at the age of 100, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Alonzo Hancock (Lonnie) and Pearl Hancock (Connett); her husband Harold B. Cox; and her grandchildren, Keith Nelson and Sherry Nelson.
She is survived by: her children, Elaine Nelson of Kell, IL, Michael Dixon (Helen) of Carbondale, IL and Beverly Robbins (Stan) of Carbondale, IL; and her stepchildren, Harold L. Cox of Carbondale and Cheryl Hughey (Bob) of Carbondale. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, and several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Boskydell Baptist Church.
