He was predeceased by: his parents, William Holder and Laura Mae Holder (Phemister); his wife Kathy Kelley; his siblings, Larry Holder and Brenda Harrison; and his stepfather Harold Dodge.
He is survived by: his daughters, Kristy Holder (Andrew) and Lindsay Holder-Hepp; his stepchildren, Kathy Jo Haldeman (Kevin), Jeremy Johnson and Chrissy Massey (Jamie); his grandchildren, Haley Cygan (Cole), Madison Haldeman, Trista Henson (Kane), Marley Hepp, Van Hepp, Kase Sharp and Kylie Massey; his great grandchildren, Kaydon, Onyx and Serenity; and his stepsisters, Peggy Mayer (Doug) and Louise Clutts. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 21st 2026 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Meredith Funeral Home (300 S University Ave, Carbondale, IL 62901). A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 21st 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, September 21st 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Oakland Cemetery North Oakland (1100 N Oakland Ave, Carbondale, IL 62901).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hope Lodge in St. Louis, MO or Special Olympics - in the name of Kathy Sue Holder and will be accepted at the funeral home.
