He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest F. Ehlers and Clara Ehlers (Hornbostel); and his siblings, Wilbert Ehlers (Grace), Ernest Ehlers, Jr. (Katherine), Leroy Ehlers, Melvin Ehlers, Pauline Welty (Dale), Helen Wilson (Edgar), Ferdinand and Ester.
He is survived by: his wife Alice Ehlers of Carbondale, IL; his children, Doug Ehlers (Tammy) of Ava, IL and Michelle Ehlers Perrott (Chris) of Carbondale, IL; his brother Roy Ehlers (Pat) of Campbell Hill, IL.; and his sisters-in-law, Debbie Thies (Donnie), Carolyn Brown (Jack), Shirley Upchurch and Meredith Ehlers. He is also survived by his 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
