We bid farewell to David E. Atherton of Carlock, Illinois, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on August 27, 2025 at the age of 75. David touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Atherton and Wanda Handrich Atherton. He is survived by: his wife Peggy "Peg" Cutler; his children, Chad Atherton of Carlock and Jill Atherton (Brian) of Bonnie, Illinois.; his grandchildren, David Atherton (Phyllis) of Tarawa Terrace, Danielle Dehart (Evan) of Minier and Denver Atherton of Carlock, Illinois.; his great grandchildren, Sadie of Tarawa Terrace and David Logan Atherton of Tarawa Terrace; and his brother Joe Atherton (Judy) of Congerville.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions be made to the Carlock Fire Department, Carlock, Illinois.
