With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Carol C. O'Brien in Carlyle, Illinois, who passed away on March 7, 2026 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas William and Jean Crawley (Merkel); her daughter Joy Asher; her grandparents, William, Catherine Crawley, Joseph and Marie Mergl (Nee Dulny); and her brother-in-law Thomas Hartenbach (Donald O'Brien).

She is survived by: her son Daniel O'Brien (Laura); her stepson Dennis O'Brien; her granddaughters, Jennifer Rey (Nick) and Megan O'Brien; and her siblings, Mary Jean Hartenbach and Thomas Crawley II (Myra). She is also survived by her family, especially her granddaughters.

In lieu of flowers or any other gifts, please make a memorial contribution to St. Paul Church or St. Vincent De Paul.
