He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Hardekopf and Mabel Hardekopf (Verner); his wife Dixie Hardekopf of Carlyle, IL; his sisters, Ruth Ann Hardekopf, Alice Walker, Ruby Ashley, Dorothy Welborn, Margaret Kemp and Bertha Smith; and his grandchildren, Rebecca Hardekopf and Watson Hardekopf.
He is survived by: his sons, Don S Hardekopf (Lisa) of Kearney, MO, David Hardekopf (Carole) of Keller, TX and Daryl Hardekopf (Brenda) of Pomeroy, IA; his granddaughters, Elizabeth Hardekopf, Amanda Scherwitz (Matt) of San Antonio, TX and Sarah Clayton (Jeff) of Council Bluffs, IA; his sons, Drew Hardekopf (Caiti) of Pleasant Vally, MO, Koda Snyder of Des Moines, IA and Josh Snyder of Pomeroy, IA; and his great grandchildren, Kylie, Kinley Scherwitz, Kinnick, Carver, Hayden Clayton, Anniston, Wesley and Declan Hardekopf.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the US Air Force Enlisted Village and will be received at the funeral home.
