James A. Nehrt Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James A. Nehrt of Carlyle, Illinois, who passed away on April 22, 2026, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Nehrt and Anna Nehrt (Hermsmeyer); his siblings, Jeanette Carter and John Nehrt; his brothers-in-law, Wayne Carter and Kenneth Johnson; and his parents-in-law, Ralph and Kathryn Kueper (Altadonna).
He is survived by: his wife Rosalyn "Rosie" Kueper; his children, Julie Erlinger (Kevin) of Champaign, Illinois, Randy Nehrt (Kim) of Springfield, Illinois and Brad Nehrt (Rayna) of Plainfield, Indiana.; his grandchildren, Dominic, Anthony Erlinger, Eli, Owen Nehrt, Corbin and Devyn Nehrt; his sisters, Judy Johnson and JoAnn Gross (Dan); and his siblings-in-law, Kathy Nehrt, Tom Kueper (Ruth) and Paul Kueper (Bonnie). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers and other gifts, the family kindly requests memorials be made to Messiah Lutheran Church or the Michael J. Fox Foundation, supporting efforts to rid the world of this horrible disease known as Parkinson's.
