He was predeceased by: his parents, Leona A. Petermeyer (Pollmann) and August Petermeyer; his daughter Michelle K. Holmes; his siblings, Raymond, Robert Petermeyer and Mary Louise "Sis" Wilke (Norbert); and his in-laws, Ervin, Frances Loepker, Bernard, Mildred Loepker, Elsie, Willie Wiegman, Dorothy and Casper Richter.
He is survived by: his wife Ethel Petermeyer of Carlyle; his children, Jeff Petermeyer (Michelle) of Aviston, Kim Kalil (Don) of Castle Pines, Lisa Hupfeld of Fenton and Kurt Petermeyer (Carrie) of Kennesaw, Georgia; his grandchildren, Mallory Korte (Chris), Jared Petermeyer (Ashley), Joseph Petermeyer, Alex Kalil (Cassie), Tyler Kalil, Ashley Hupfeld, Allison Hupfeld, Hilary Gaines (Joe), Samuel Petermeyer, Claire Ellis Petermeyer and Grant Petermeyer; his great grandchildren, James Petermeyer, Madyson Korte, Michael Petermeyer, Wyatt Korte, Melody Korte, Waylon Korte, Audrie Hupfeld, Everett Gaines and Wilder Gaines; his siblings, Richard Petermeyer (Maribeth), Betty Koopmann (Leonard) and Rita Petermeyer; and his in-laws, Carol Petermeyer, Edna Woltering and Herbert Loepker.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 18th 2026 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the St. Mary's Church (1171 Livingston St, Carlyle, IL 62231). The military honors will be held on Sunday, January 18th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church (1171 Livingston St, Carlyle, IL 62231).
Expressions of sympathy in memory of Mr. Petermeyer are suggested to St. Mary's Church or to the American Cancer Society.
