She was predeceased by: her parents, Truman Gwaltney and Mary Gwaltney (Wilson); her husband Roy Kenneth Doerner; and her siblings, Ned Gwaltney, Thelma Reynolds and Madeline Gaines.
She is survived by: her children, Kathy Taylor (Jim) of Burnt Prairie and Terry Doerner of Carmi; her grandchildren, Misty Gwaltney (Bucky) and Brandon Barbre (Jennifer); her stepgrandchildren, Jimmy Taylor (Carol) and Tonya Hobbs (Ryan); her great grandchildren, Olivia Ledford (Will), Elizabeth Richards (Kaden), Gracyn Barbre, Whitley Barbre, Violet Barbre and Caleb Barbre; and her great great grandchildren, Elliotte Hope Ledford and Eilee Jane Richards. She is also survived by four step-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Campbell Funeral Home (609 W Main St, Carmi, IL 62821). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Betty's memory to the Ronald McDonald House in Evansville and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home, 609 W. Main St., Carmi, IL 62821.
