She was predeceased by: her parents, Lawrence Sanders and Rose Sanders (Gant); her former husband Robert Blades; her husband Norman Gwaltney; and her siblings, Lois Mast and David Sanders.

She is survived by: her daughters, Janet Engelgau of Vancouver, WA. and Jane Allen (Travis) of Norris City, IL; her stepsons, Mark Gwaltney (Kim) of Carmi, IL. and Michael Gwaltney (Cam); her grandchildren, Christina Roddy (Matt), Chris Hargrave and Erica Dowell (David); her great grandchildren, Matthew, Adrienne, Alexa, Hunter, Ryan, Hayden, Jaxon, Jenelle, Carson, Tommy and Riley; her brother Norman Sanders; and her pet Cocoa. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In Lieu of flowers, contributions in Doris' memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and will be accepted by Roberts and Cook Funeral Service who has been entrusted with arrangements.
