We announce the death of Jimmy Lynn King of Carmi, Illinois, who passed away on September 14, 2026, at the age of 57. Jimmy will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Jimmy will be remembered for the impact he had on the lives of those around him. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Jimmy will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture his life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Jimmy’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob Lee "Ernie" and Peggy Joyce King (Fisher); and his brother Jerry Thurman Steven. He is survived by: his wife Brenda King (Smith) of Carmi; his children, Bobbie Ward, Jerry Russell, Jr., David Russell, Lisa Rudd and Rhonda Lytle; and his friend Scott Mareing. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; numerous cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Campbell Funeral Home (609 W Main St, Carmi, IL 62821).
