He was predeceased by: his parents, Grover Glenn and Gwendolen Eva Hines (Greenacre). He is survived by: his wife Avis Hines (Cook) of Carmi; his children, Erica Zieren (Joe) and Matt Hines (Whitney); his stepchildren, Luke McPherson, Josh McPherson and Angie Darnell; his grandchildren, Johanna, Max, Eli, Ana, Cassie, Lucy, Dylan, Braydon, Breanna, Dustin and Austin; his siblings, Edward Hines (Deb) and Elizabeth Masterson (Craig); and his nibling Chris Williams (Amy). He is also survived by four great-granddaughters.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Monday, October 5th 2026 at 9:00 AM at the Carmi Emmanuel Church (203 Edgewood Ln, Carmi, IL 62821). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Robert's memory to the donor's organization of choice and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home, 609 W. Main St., Carmi, IL 62821.
