He was predeceased by: his wife Marilyn Stewart; and his parents, Helen Stewart and Joe Stewart. He is survived by: his daughters, Elizabeth (Jamie), Mary (Angel) and Helen; and his grandchildren, Daniel, Mariana, Isabel and Emma.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Hultgren Funeral Home (304 N Main St, Wheaton, IL 60187). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Gary United Methodist Church (224 N Main St, Wheaton, IL 60187).

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Douglas' honor may be directed to Compa, IFES in Mexico.
