He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett Gibbons and Anna Gibbons (Grousky); and his children, James O. "Jimmy" Gibbons II and Pamela Nelson. He is survived by: his wife Peggy (Peggy); his son Johnnie Horn (Marcia) of Texas; and his siblings, Jerry Gibbons, Joe Gibbons and Sharon Ricketts (Mike). He is also survived by six grandchildren.
