James Joseph Howard Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Joseph Howard of Carrollton, Illinois, who passed away on January 16, 2026, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Dunaven and Mildred Whitworth Howard Dunaven; his wife Patricia M. Tuey; and his siblings, Audrey Jean Martin, Patsy Brown (Charlie) and Tom "Butch" Howard.
He is survived by: his daughters, Amber D. Lockard (Cody) of Virden and Michelle L. Thompson (Terrence) of Edwardsville; his grandchildren, Taylor G. Schoondyke (Dakota) of Virden, Lillian M. Zimmerman of Jacksonville and Tyrell D. Kelly of Edwardsville; his great grandchildren, Holden Levi and Lincoln James; his sister Sara Quade (Tom) of Panama, Illinois; and his sister-in-law Beverly Howard of White Hall. He is also survived by his wife, daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 21st 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Crawford Funeral Home (1308 IL-109, Jerseyville, IL 62052). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 22nd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Association, in care of the funeral home.
