He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Peters and Wreatha Reynolds Peters; his wife Norma J. Dixon; and his children, Teri Denise Peters and John Peters.
He is survived by: his children, La Chelle Griffin (Geof) of Jacksonville, Randy Peters (Cathy) of Carrollton and Jeffrey Peters (Christina) of Carrollton; his grandchildren, Justin Peters, Krissie Pitchford, Amanda Sidwell, Kayla Davis, Kendra Baumgarder, Sarah Riggs, Travis Peters, Tyler Peters, Melissa Allen, Megen Shaffer and Michael Griffin; his sisters, Hazel Roberts of White Hall and Merrilee Peck of LaFollette, TN; his stepfather Newell McQuery; Wreatha Reynolds Peters. He is also survived by seventeen great‑grandchildren; and four step great‑grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, June 18th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Carrollton First Baptist Church (203 Fifth St, Carrollton, IL 62016). A funeral service was held on Friday, June 19th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, June 19th 2026 at the Oakwood Cemetery.
